Speech & Drama Adjudicators 2027

For 10 years Susan ran The Fylde Stage School teaching levels of RAD and ISTD dance and LAMDA Speech and Drama before graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. After seasons in Repertory Theatre, touring and T.V she decided that it was time to realise other dreams. She now directs Upstage Drama, teaching Speech and Drama, GCSE Drama, Upstage Young Peoples Theatre and Bare Boards Theatre Company. Susan adjudicates at festivals all over the UK as well as Cork and Hong Kong. She is an adjudicator member of the British and International Federation of Festivals and has served as a deputy on the Adjudicators Council. Susan sees her role as an adjudicator as a combination of bringing new ideas and approaches to text and performance as well as fresh encouragement to every participant. She feels that everyone should leave a festival with a sense of achievement. 

Christopher Baglin is a multi-disciplinary drama practitioner of fifteen years standing. He read Drama at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and worked as professional actor for some years afterwards. Since starting a family, he has retrained as a primary teacher and now pursues a mixed career as a teacher, performer, and adjudicator.

Over the years, he has been lucky enough to take in most aspects of theatre work, as an actor, stage manager, writer and developer of site-specific performances. He also has a working knowledge of puppetry, stage magic and direction and is a member of a number of professional bodies including the British Puppet and Model Theatre Guild, The North Wales Magic Circle and the Punch and Judy Fellowship. 

Anne has studied dance and drama since the age of 3 and has appeared in reviews, musicals, forces tours and cruises, travelling all over the world.

Other work includes cabaret, children's entertainment, Make-Up artist, touring "Theatre in Education" companies, voice-overs and hosting/compering events.

Anne is a highly experienced teacher of Dance and Drama and has recently retired as Curriculum Leader at a prestigious Performance Arts College. She was BTEC Teacher Of The Year 2012.

Together with husband Trev, Anne was Founder of St Oswald's Dramatists and has also choreographed and directed for a range of companies, including work with disabled and educational special needs.
